What is the shelf life?

Approximately two years when unopened and stored refrigerated. Once opened, discs should be used within one to two weeks.

How should these be used?

Bacterial culture is transferred into nutrient broth and incubated overnight until cloudy. The inoculated broth is added to liquid agar at approximately 45°C and poured into plates. Discs are applied using the hand dispenser within 15 minutes of the agar setting and plates incubated shortly after application. Discs must be in close contact with a moist agar surface and uniform incubation times should be used.

These do not seem to be working. What could be the reason?

Possible causes include discs being opened for longer than one to two weeks, incorrect storage, non viable bacterial cultures, unsuitable incubation conditions, or use against bacteria that are not sensitive to the antibiotic being tested.
