Completely self-contained and ready to use at a moments notice with minimal setting-up required. Just connect a laboratory signal generator (not included) to the 4mm sockets of the integral vibration transducer, adjust the tension in the string to the required value by sliding the spring balance assembly and away you go.
As the frequency of the generator is varied the first harmonic can be found and then all the others up to the 7th or 8th. The string length can be easily varied if required by moving the end peg and the main arm can be detached if required to facilitate storage.
