Silicone Oil

High temperature, high quality, low toxicity silicone oil, suitable for use with Thieles melting point apparatus and oil baths. This oil is a clear, odourless and neutral (chemically inert) liquid. The viscosity shows very little change with temperature variation and it is resistant to both high and low temperature extremes. Its uses also include: Heat transfer media; Thermal transfer fluids; Hydraulic fluids; Dielectrics fluids; Water repellents; Lubricants.
Silicone oil properties: Operating temperature: up to 230°C; Melting Point -35 to -50°C; Auto-ignition Point: >300°C; Flash Point: >250°C; Density: 0.96 g-cm3 at 20°C; Refractive index 1.4; Solubility - insoluble in water.
