Search Coil

This Search Coil is designed to detect fluctuating magnetic field. It comprises a 3,200 turn coil mounted on a Perspex handle and is terminated with stackable 4mm plugs. In use the search coil acts like the secondary of a transformer to detect fluctuating magnetic fields. It may be used to measure field strength and shape and may also be used to demonstrate transformer action. The search coil is designed to be connected to either an oscilloscope or a 200 mV a.c meter (or multimeter).
