Please note: this culture requires growing-on, to make the concentration suitable for alga balls or class use.

Can this be used straight from the bottle to make algal balls?

Yes it can, but you won't be able to make many. You need to allow the culture to settle to the bottom of the bottle, to concentrate it (there should be about 3ml of darker green concentrated algae) and pipette it off (or carefully decant the water above off) to use to make your algal ball. If a class set is required, it needs to be grown on according to the SAPS instructions.
