pH Storage Solution General purpose pH electrode cleaning solution and storage solution. The cleaning solution will remove residues and impurities from electrodes before storing for next use (always rinse with tap water after cleaning). The storage solution should be used for storage of electrodes (short or longer term), to maximise performance, prevent drying out and minimise bacterial growth. Supplied in 500ml bottles. All orders are securely packed for safe delivery and dispatched from our Manchester warehouse, ensuring dependable UK service.

Before First Use
Rinse the pH electrode with deionised or distilled water to remove any residual contaminants. If the electrode has dried out, hydrate it by immersing the glass bulb and junction in storage solution for at least one hour before taking measurements. Overnight hydration is preferable for maximum performance.
During Routine Use
After each measurement session, rinse the electrode thoroughly with deionised or distilled water. Gently shake off excess water without wiping the glass bulb to avoid static or damage.
Storage Between Uses
Ensure the sensing glass and reference junction remain moist when the electrode is not in use. Replace the solution in the protective cap with a small amount of storage solution so that the electrode tip and junction are covered. Never store electrodes dry or in plain distilled/deionised water, as this can cause the junction to dry out and degrade performance.
After Cleaning
If the electrode has been cleaned with a dedicated cleaning solution to remove deposits, always rinse with deionised or distilled water and then soak the electrode in storage solution for at least one hour before use.
Extended Periods of Non-Use
For extended storage, check periodically that the storage solution in the protective cap remains sufficient to keep the junction and glass bulb moist. Replenish with fresh storage solution if evaporation occurs.
