Paternity testing is now very routine around the world. Give your students an understanding of this technique with these exciting electrophoresis kits.
Compare a childs DNA with their mother and two possible fathers. Students must match the banding pattern to work out the result. Additionally, advanced students can learn about short tandem repeats (STRs) a type of variable number tandem repeat (VNTR) using the kit. All you need: electrophoresis tank, power supply, fixed volume or adjustable 40µl micropipette and tips, plus the DNA kit.
DNA kit includes: instructions, DNA samples, DNA stain, agarose, electrophoresis buffer for 8 gels.
