Optics Board

A 9mm fibre board bonded to an MDF backing sheet, for optics work, including refraction, reflection and ray tracing using lenses, mirrors or ray boxes. The fibre board is firm, but soft enough to accept optical pins, which can be used to mark the refraction of light through a glass block etc. White paper is usually pinned to the board first, to make ray tracing from ray boxes or through lenses clearer, and to allow students to draw lines and then measure angles on the paper.
