The Lascells Advanced Timer is a millisecond resolution timing device with a clear 4-digit display, designed for accurate and reliable measurements across a wide range of Physics experiments. Engineered to remove the usual setup complexity associated with light gates / dataloggers, it enables quick, straightforward configuration, as a stand-alone system. Four selectable timing modes provide flexibility: Mode 1 uses a single gate, Mode 2 measures between two gates, Mode 3 (‘Triple Time’) displays gate times and total transit time (crucial for the calculation of acceleration, as needed for the study of Newton’s Second Law), and Mode 4 (‘Fence Mode’) uses a supplied picket fence to determine g by free fall. Inputs include 3.5 mm sockets for Lascells Timer Light Gates (S300-855A) and Reaction Timer (S300-856A), and 4 mm safety sockets, facilitating compatibility with Speed of Sound (LA50-560A) and g by Freefall (LA30-845).
