Lascells AC Magnetic Field Coil

The Lascells AC Magnetic Field Coil consists of 10 turns of insulated copper wire, wrapped around a circular former mounted on an acrylic base. This device provides a simple and effective way for students to explore the relationship between Magnetic Flux Linkage and the orientation of a search coil, relative to a magnetic field. With a protractor scale etched into the unit base, the angle between the search coil and the field direction is readily measured, and students can directly observe how flux linkage changes as a function of angle.
Electrical connection to a low voltage AC laboratory power supply is via the integral 4 mm safety sockets mounted on the base.
Requires a search coil (e.g. MFL-385-100) for detection of the induced AC magnetic field, and an oscilloscope, AC millivoltmeter or multimeter with an AC mV range (e.g. EMD-380-100) for measurement purposes (not included).
