Diffusion Tube

Open-ended 500mm borosilicate glass tube suitable for diffusion of gases experiments. Cotton wool soaked in concentrated ammonia solution is placed at one end and concentrated hydrochloric acid at the other, with both ends stoppered to contain fumes. A white ring of ammonium chloride forms where the gases meet. Tube ends are fired for safety. Supplied without stoppers.
