Mounted Charles’ Law apparatus comprising a sealed capillary tube with a 0 to 200mm scale and an adjacent 0 to 70°C thermometer on a plastic former.

The glass tube contains a coloured oil bead and the back plate includes a fixing hole for suspension in a water bath. Dimensions are 245mm glass tube length and 350mm overall length.

FAQs

Is the oil already in place in the tube or does it need to be injected?

The coloured oil is already injected at approximately the 12 to 13cm mark on the scale.

The coloured oil bead has become separated and there is an air bubble. How do I re join the oil?

Insert thin wire or nylon line into the tube and move it through the oil and bubble until the oil re joins.

What are the dimensions of the tube?

Tube length is 25cm with an outer diameter of 6mm and an inner diameter of approximately 2mm.
