General

A handheld ultraviolet lamp suitable for use with TLC plates which have UV 254 indicator, as well as for viewing certain geological mineral specimens which exhibit UV fluorescence.

The UV lamp comes with both shortwave and long wave light sources:

The short wave light is provided by a small tube emitting UV at 254 nm.

The long wave light is provided by a UV LED emitting at 380 nm.

Dimensions: 160 x 54 x 24 mm. Requires 4 x AA batteries (not included).

Care: Do not look directly into UV lights and do not expose unprotected skin to shortwave UV light for more than a few seconds. The wearing of UV protective glasses is recommended when using any shortwave (UVC) lamps (e.g. SUV-100-100).

The lamp is fitted with a 4W UV tube. The tube measures approximately 15mm in diameter and 135mm in length excluding pins, or 150mm including pins.
