Wire wound rheostat constructed on a 43mm diameter steel tube with vitreous enamel coating.

Resistance wire is heavily oxidised and secured using ceramic cement.

A heavy duty sliding contact with multi leaf phosphor bronze strips runs on a separate bar.

Termination is provided by 4mm screw socket posts. Maximum current 2.3A.
