Lee & Nic at The Herts & Essex Online Tech Fest

On 3 December, Lee was joined by Nichola from Lascells to deliver a lively and fast-paced training session, Lee began with a detailed glassware presentation, moving through practical points that helped frame how different items support everyday laboratory work. His explanations were clear and steady, giving the group a strong foundation before the demonstrations that followed.

Nichola then presented a selection of equipment from the Lascells range. The cloud chamber, E Field detector, reaction timer, spark detector and ripple tank were shown in action, with each demonstration highlighting how the apparatus can be used in teaching and practical science settings. The room remained engaged throughout, with participants taking time to observe, ask questions and discuss how each piece of equipment fits into their own environments.

To bring the session together, Lee returned with a focused talk on chemicals. He covered key considerations around handling, selection and classroom use, prompting conversation and thoughtful questions. This final section helped link the earlier demonstrations to broader practical teaching needs.

The hour and a half passed quickly, thanks to the steady pace, clear explanations and active involvement from attendees. It was an informative morning, and the team appreciated the interest and engagement shown by everyone present.
