A versatile Van de Graaff electrostatic generator which uses a moving silicone rubber belt to accumulate very high electrical potential and transfer it to a hollow metal charging sphere. The unit may be operated using the inbuilt electric motor or can be manually driven using the hand crank handle, to demonstrate that its operation is independent of the mains supply. In good conditions the apparatus produces large sparks, up to 8cm.This Van De Graaff Generator produces up to 220,000 Volts and comes with a polished 18cm charge collecting sphere, a 10cm discharge sphere mounted on a wand, assembled base with attached DC motor, mains power cord, electrostatics accessories kit and instructions.
Overall height: approx. 55 cmPower supply: 120/240V, 50/60HzMotor power: 20 W max.
