A physics lab essential, the updated Lascells Laboratory Loudspeaker features a high quality, full range 4" speaker mounted on a metal base, with integral shrouded 4mm sockets for connection using standard lab. leads. The unit can be used vertically or horizontally, owing to the open frame design with flat sides. The compact size allows for easy storage – up to 8 units can be stored in a deep Gratnells or equivalent tray.
Suggested demonstrations include: finding the range of human hearing; showing that volume is a function of diaphragm displacement; dancing oobleck/shear thickening in non-Newtonian fluid (cornflour suspension in water - ensure that the speaker is protected with cling film first!); interference (requires two speakers). The optimum audio frequency range is 80 Hz to 22 kHz, but the speaker will also respond to signals well beyond this range.
· Dimensions 150 x 140 x 80 mm
