Thermochromic Sheet

A good example of a ‘smart’ material, this self-adhesive plastic sheet material contains liquid crystal 'ink', which changes colour when heated above 27°C. Potential applications are many and varied e.g. temperature indication/warnings, body jewellery, displays. Try attaching a resistance wire (nichrome) to the back of the sheet, then pass a small current through the wire to produce dramatic colour change patterns. Supplied as a 150 x 150 mm sheet. Can be easily cut to size, as required.
