This apparatus provides a reliable system for students to investigate the properties of resistance wires. Four 50 cm long nichrome wires are conveniently held on a robust baseboard with simple electrical connection facilities and a metric scale alongside, allowing resistance vs. length and resistance vs. diameter investigations to be easily covered.
The wires are all nichrome, with different diameters; 1 each of 0.9 mm (20 SWG), 0.7 mm (22 SWG), 0.56 mm (24 SWG) and 0.37 mm (28 SWG), giving resistances in the range 0.4 to 4 Ohms.
Connection to each wire is via a 4mm socket at one end. Connection to intermediate points, or the far end, can be made by using a jockey, ELR-050-150, or crocodile clip (not included).
Replacement wires are available in the ‘Electrical Accessories’ section.
Dimensions: 540 x 90 x 25 mm.
