Emilia tries the Lascells Gyroscope Wheel5 July 2024 Watch the full video and check out our youTube Channel here:
A question every physics student should know the answer to, is ‘why does a bicycle wheel stay upright when in motion?’ Explain this, and more with the Lascells Gyroscope Wheel. Get the wheel spinning at high-speed using the 4-metre-long pull cord to demonstrate torque, gyroscopic precession, and angular momentum. With two options for the radial placement of masses, the effect of mass distance from rotation axis can be examined. Additional masses can also be added (available separately). Can be used in conjunction with the Rotary Table (FMD-400-100) to perform the classic and unforgettable conservation of angular momentum demo, as an exciting and effective way to teach rotational mechanics.
• 4 m long pull cord • Included bungee cord for axial suspension • Label for video analysis timing • Change distance of masses from rotation axis • Dimensions (assembled): 590 x 590 x 290 mm. Mass 2.5 kg |
