Mounted Component - Reed Switch

A mounted reed switch, from Lascells, with two contacts contained within a glass tube. The contacts remain open, or close together, depending on the proximity of a magnet. Any small magnet can be used to close the reed switch, thereby allowing current to flow in a circuit. Typical uses of reed switches include security on windows, doors etc.
