This aluminium foil support bar from Lascells provides an effective, visual way of demonstrating the attraction & repulsion of current carrying conductors. The simple apparatus allows two strips of foil to be held in place on either side of a shaped, clear acrylic support, using crocodile clips mounted at the top and base. Standard 4mm plug leads are connected to the crocodile clips, and also to a low voltage laboratory power supply capable of delivering at least 5 Amps. When the current flows through both foil strips in the same direction, the foil strips are attracted to each other but when the current flows through the foil strips in opposite directions, the foil strips repel each other.
Requires standard kitchen foil (not supplied).
