Apparatus to facilitate the exploration of concepts such as force, work, energy, mechanical advantage and friction, along with the relationships between them. The apparatus consists of two plane parallel plates hinged together so that one can be tilted while the other provides a stable, horizontal base. The inclined plate is smoothed to minimize the effects of friction and has a pulley mounted at the top and can be fixed at various angles. A heavy metal roller, mounted in a frame with an eye for attaching a cord, is also included.
