This Acrylic (Plexiglass) tube allows the Guinea & Feather experiment to be demonstrated. The tube comes supplied with a stopper at each end and a robust 2-way tap to allow a vacuum pump to be connected. Small objects, to represent a guinea & feather, should be placed inside the tube before connecting to a vacuum pump. Once sufficient vacuum has been attained, the tap can be closed and the tube removed from the vacuum line. When the tube is turned on end, the objects inside fall at the same rate - proving that the acceleration due to gravity is independent of the mass of the body, in a vacuum. Tube dimensions: Diameter 40mm; Length 1 metre.Requires a vacuum pump (not supplied).
