A fool-proof system for allowing students to investigate the raising of a mechanical load by an electrical input.A small d.c. electric motor is geared down to rotate a shaft around which a thread is wound. The thread is attached to a load and the students time the lifting process while noting the electrical input to the system. It enables investigations to be carried out into efficiency, energy transfer, power etc.Useful at all levels from KS3 to Post 16. A limit switch automatically stops the motor when the load reaches the top.Supplied complete with detailed instructions for many investigations at different levels.
