The Demonstration Electric Motor is a ready-built, fully functional unit showing all the essential features of a simple motor as taught in the KS4 syllabus. A single rectangular coil rotates in a linear magnetic field with a simple commutator and brush arrangement. Field directions can be reversed by reversing the ferrite slab magnets and current direction can be reversed by reversing the leads. Requires DC voltage in the range 1.5V - 6V.
