This digitally controlled Direct-Flow Reverse Osmosis (RO) system provides an excellent alternative to a water still or deioniser and produces deionised quality water economically and efficiently. Water is supplied to the unit by simply tapping into a standard tap-water supply pipe, using the kit provided and the electrical supply is via a standard 3-pin plug and lead (included). Tap water enters the unit and passes through a series of carbon pre-filters, followed by a reverse osmosis (RO) membrane, finally passing through a resin deioniser to produce laboratory grade purified deionised water. Designed for laboratory and medical use, this is a direct-flow RO system, which does not require a water storage tank. Advantages of a reverse Osmosis (RO) System with Deioniser.1. Easy to install and use - no special electrical requirement4. produces deionised quality waterAfter the pre-filter and RO processes, water flows through a mixed bed resin filter which purifies the water down to deionized levels - this mixed bed filter will change colour when it requires changing. Additionally the digital controller can be set to sound an alarm or to cut water flow when it is time to change the filters i.e. when filter lifetime has been reached. Because the input water has already gone through filtering and RO processes, the final deionising resin filter lasts a lot longer than those in a stand-alone deioniser - due to the majority of salts and ions having already been removed before the water enters the filter. Therefore the water entering is much cleaner and will not exhaust the resin as quickly/ When the filters or RO membrane have reached the end of their lifetime, as indicated by the digital controller, simply remove and replace individual filter cartridges.The system is easy to install and use and comes inclusive of all filters, RO membrane filter, free-standing framework support with digital controller and display, tap, fitting kit, all feed and outlet tubing and a filter wrench (for removing and replacing filters).Requires access to a standard water pipe (connection is via a feed-in valve), a sink (for water waste) and a mains electrical socket. Some basic drilling is required to fit outlet tap and drainage hose, if permanent connections are required. The water feed to the system requires some basic plumbing.

Q = How often do the filters need changing in the Reverse Osmosis (RO) system?A = The filter change timescale will depend on the type of filter, and how much the RO water purifier is used. Also, the clarity / purity of the water feed to the RO unit. You are most likely to need to change the 3 pre-filters (after approx. 12 months or 15,000 litres of pure water has been generated) or the resin deioniser cartridge (the colour of the resin changes when you need to replace it - no timescale guide is given for this by the manufacturer). The Reverse Osmosis (RO) membrane should last at least 2 years, although again this will depend on how much the apparatus has been used.There is a setting on the digital controller of the main unit which will tell you when any of the filters need changing, so you know which one(s) to change.The filter cartridges are easy to change – simply unscrew any which need changing and replace with a new filter cartridge.
