A set of 15 different rock specimens, all hand-picked for quality. The set is ideal for educational purposes at all levels, and the collection includes specimens from the main rock types - igneous, metamorphic and sedimentary - from coarse grained plutonic granites to desert sandstones. The set is housed in a carboard box, with each individual rock sample in a separate compartment in an inner plastic tray. A corresponding photo identification sheet is attached to the inside of the box lid. Specimens included are: Granite, Basalt, Pumice, Obsidian, Conglomerate, Breccia, Desert Sandstone, Mudstone, Chalk, Crinoidal Limestone, Anthracite Coal, Gneiss, Marble, Mica Schist, Slate.
