A set of 9 minerals representing The Mohs scale of hardness (diamond is not included). Understanding a minerals hardness can be particularly important when having to identify different minerals of similar appearances, so it is useful to have a set of known hardness minerals for testing. Suitable for geology students of all education levels, the set is housed in a carboard box, with each individual mineral in a separate compartment in an inner plastic tray. A corresponding photo identification sheet is attached to the inside of the box lid. Specimens included are: Talc, Gypsum, Calcite, Fluorite, Apatite, Orthoclase Feldspar, Quartz, Topaz, Corundum, (empty space for diamond).
