This apparatus provides a reliable system for students to investigate and compare the properties of resistance wires. Four 50 cm long resistance wires are conveniently held on a robust baseboard with simple electrical connection facilities and a millimetre scale alongside, allowing distance vs length and resistance vs material to be investigated easily. The Resistivity Board includes four wires of the same diameter but different materials: constantan; manganin; nichrome; brass. Resistivity investigations can then be conveniently carried out. Wire diameter is 0.45mm diameter (26 SWG) for all the wires.
Connection to each wire is via a 4mm socket at one end. Connection to intermediate points, or the far end, can be made by using a jockey, ELR-050-150, or crocodile clip (not included).
Replacement wires of equal diameter are also available - please see 'Related Products' below.
Dimensions: 540 x 90 x 25 mm.
