A good quality gyroscope, with a 6 cm diameter brass rotor which is dynamically balanced to within 0.5 g. The steel shaft has polished bearing surfaces and adjustable Teflon bearings that allow it to run up to three times as long as gyroscopes with conventional cone bearings. Useful for demonstrating principles of angular momentum and torque, and experiments in precession, inertial guidance, and gyroscopic stabilization.
Supplied complete with gyroscope wheel, gimbal (frame), gimbal cradle, wooden support base/stand and string (to spin the gyroscope). Overall dimensions approx. 17.5 x 12.5 x 12.5 cm.
